Sentra is probably one of the cars that went through most transformations since it was introduced in the entire Nissan lineup. At first, until 1999 it was a subcompact car, then from 2000 to 2006 was classified as a compact car and in 2007 Sentra has grown even more and since then it is classified as a mid-size sedan. Furthermore, another interesting thing about Sentra is that it has four other names, depending on which market it is sold: Sunny, Sylphy, Tsuru and Pulsar. However, since there have been no significant updates since 2007, the Japanese manufacturer is working on bringing a 2017 Nissan Sentra to the car market in next few months.
2017 Nissan Sentra Exterior
There are no official images of the upcoming 2017 Nissan Sentra, however, some of the reports that have surfaced on the web have focused a lot on the exterior. The new Sentra will most probably be same in size and shape like the current model, however, since the Japanese manufacturer wants to improve performance of the vehicle without fitting a big engine, there is a big chance that there will be some significant changes done to the body and the whole chassis of the car, in order to make it lighter.
When it comes to the design, it is less likely that the Nissan is working on a brand-new design and it is expected that the 2017 Nissan Sentra is going to have similar design like other models from the lineup (those that were recently updated). One report published some details about the exterior, but they have not been confirmed – the new Sentra, according to that one report, should get new angular headlights with integrated LED daytime running lights, a bigger front bumper and a much larger chrome front grille. The back of the car will have taillights with LED elements and most probably twin-exhausts.
Interior of the new Nissan Sentra
On the inside, the new 2017 Nissan Sentra should get an interior inspired by the one in the current Nissan Maxima, but made out of much cheaper materials. On the other hand, some reports have suggested that the new Nissan Sentra 2017 might get high quality materials, which should make it more expensive, but at the same time the car would change its class – to a luxury mid-size sedan. Apart from that, the new Sentra is going to have a big touch screen display (most probably 7-inch unit), a multi-functional steering wheel and Bluetooth connectivity as standard.
Nissan Sentra 2017 Engine
The reports have different rumors about the engines in the upcoming 2017 Nissan Sentra – some suggest that the new Sentra is going to come with the same 1.8l engine that produces 130 horsepower and 128 lb-ft of torque, while other reports suggest that the new Sentra might get a V6 engine which should deliver much more power.
2017 Nissan Sentra Price
The base version of the new Nissan Sentra should cost around $24,000.
2017 Sentra Release date
It is expected that the new Nissan Sentra 2017 will be unveiled by the end of 2015, while it should go on sale in summer of 2016.
