It seems that the 2017 model year will be pretty interesting for car enthusiasts and carmakers since a great number of new and revamped models are scheduled for release in 2016. One of them is the upgraded Nissan Juke which will arrive with a more conservative design. The first generation of this model arrived in 2011 and caused quite a stir when it showed up with its interesting and eye-popping styling. However, it seems that the carmaker will calm the situation with the 2017 model whose design will be slightly toned down compared to the current model. Apparently, the next-gen 2017 Nissan Juke will be based around the Gripz concept.
2017 Nissan Juke Exterior
If we judge by the concept, the new Juke will have an extremely aggressive design, especially the front face. It will sport arrow-shaped headlights with LED technology and the trademark, V-shaped grille. The headlights come equipped with forward facing cameras which can be used in different situations. For example, you can easily record your off-road adventures.
However, some trusted sites reported that the side profile of the vehicle will be far more conservative than that of the current model. It will probably ride on three-spoke 22-inch wheels. The newcomer will be incredibly light since the carmaker used carbon fiber, aluminum, and zinc for body structure.
Nissan Juke 2017 Interior
Compared to the exterior design, the interior of the upcoming Nissan Juke seems to be a little subdued. Its cabin is equipped with 2+2 molded bucket seats. The steering wheel gets the same graphics as the sidewall of the tires. It also has rather an unusual instrument cluster with a chronograph-inspired design. There is also an interestingly designed floating display.
The carmaker hasn’t revealed what kind of features will be available in the production version of the Grip concept, the Juke. There will probably be a new infotainment system and a wide range of safety and convenience equipment. The cabin will have enough space for six passengers at the time. Some of the new features that might be included in the production version are park assist, USB port, Bluetooth connectivity, Takata airbags, blind-spot monitoring, and many others.
Engine of the new Juke
The carmaker hasn’t dubbed into details about the engine powering the 2017 Nissan Juke. They have announced that the newcomer will be equipped with their Pure Drive e-Power- This is actually a hybrid system based on EV technology, which consists of an electric motor and a gasoline powerplant. The same combo is found in the Nissan LEAF.
Some trusted reported that a 1.5-liter turbocharged engine might also be in the books for the upcoming Juke. A 2.4-liter dual turbo powerplant is also in the game. The former makes 240 horses while the later churns 220 horses. Apparently, there will be several transmission options including a CVT and a six-speed automatic gearbox. We still wait for the carmaker to say more before we confirm the allegations.
2017 Nissan Juke Release date
The 2017 Nissan Juke will probably go on sale in the second half of 2016. The price tag will vary from $30,000 to $40,000.
